Sierra Club hike open to the public:
Sat. June 7 - Kohua Ridge Trail hike at Koke'e. Superb views over the Waimea and Poomau canyons. The Kohua Ridge separates the beautiful canyon lands of Po'omau and Koaie. Rare native plants along trail. Strenuous 5 miles round trip. Call Bob Greene at 245-9280.

What: a sign-holding demonstration

When: Saturday, June 7, 2008, 11 AM

Where: Hanalei town, sidewalk fronting Big Save

Why: to show our solidarity with the defense of the iwi kupuna at Naue and to raise public consciousness about the Kanaka Maoli struggle

What to bring: appropriate signs (see some suggestions below, courtesy of Aunty Nani Rogers), commitment, love, good will, solidarity and ALOHA with an attitude of KU'E - which means "resistance and persistence" (thanks, again Aunty Nani!).

Suggested wording for signs:
"Revoke Brescia's permits!"

"Why you permitting them to build on the bones? "
"Planning Dept. is just as guilty as Brescia for criminal acts.!"
"We demand a public hearing on this issue!"
"Guilty of desecration of a graveyard!"
"Stop the desecration NOW!"
