Howzit folks, I want to do some sign holding in front of the State building facing Rice Street during lunch time (12 to 1) and again on the highway/sidewalk across Mcdonald's around 4 to 5pm in support of the righteous action taken to protect the iwi of Kanaka Maoli at Naue. It's not a major demo but something speedily planned to inform the public (mostly working folks) on the issue. If you can make it fine. I'll be making a few signs about respecting this site- I think many people can relate to this issue but get confused with the "property rights" bullshit of the developer. The site should be protected and preserved, no ifs and or buts- if Brescia loses money, well too bad. It's about time that the rights of the Kanaka come first! Please spread the word. Take care, Ray Start: 3:00 pm

June 7, 2008 Congress on Your Corner is an event I hold at various locations in our district so you can come and talk with me about any concerns, questions, or ideas you may have. My staff will also be available to help those who need assistance for Social Security, veterans' benefits, immigration aa well as other services. I hold these events at a number of venues throughout the 2nd Congressional District, and they have proven to be quite popular. The next Congress on Your Corner will be in Hanalei, on Saturday, June 14th, on the island of Kauai. Kauai Hanalei School (Cafeteria), I am fighting for the kind of forward-thinking change we need - with innovative solutions to our national energy crisis, a commitment to bringing our troops home from the Middle East, as well as investing in early childhood education for Hawaii. (For more information on our accomplishments, click here). If you have a moment, please stop by. Learning about the issues you care about most helps me best serve you and Hawaii. If there's anything I or my office can do to help you, don't hesitate to call, using one of the island numbers listed below. Big Island - 935-3756

PLEASE BRING MATS AND/OR BEACH CHAIRS TO SITE ON Humans suffer from increasing numbers of diseases caused by pollution. At fault is the overproduction of non-sustainable manufactures, immense waste and destruction, and an unsupportable population. The primary cause for much of the crisis is the fuels we use, petroleum being the primary one. Within this century, if nothing effective is achieved, planetary damage will be dramatic and total in every area. Although impossible to predict, extreme disaster could be quick once the balance is decisively tipped in the wrong direction, and it will happen everywhere.

The good people organizing at Naue need this back up. Thank you Aunty Nani, Kaiulani, Louise, Andrew, Hale, Keone, the Lua braddahs and everyone else who went there this past tuesday to stop the desecration. Please call if interested.
