Save Kauai brings together current information about Kauai and web-based tools that allow you to take action. If we want to affect the future of Kauai in a pono way we must organize and begin implementing solutions, not just fighting the problems.
Aloha 'Aina, Imua Kakou!
Bill 2202, the county's Housing Bill, recently passed with a 6-0 vote, and has been transmitted for the Mayor’s signature. Pursuant to the Charter, he has ten (10) working days from transmittal to either sign it into ordinance, let it become an ordinance without his signature, or veto it (at which point it would come back to the Council for further processing). The passed bill does far less to address the affordable housing problem than the original bill. It is attached below.
